Explanation

The Prayaga Prashasti, also called the Allahabad Pillar Inscription, was composed in Sanskrit by Harishena, the court poet of the Gupta emperor Samudragupta. It praises Samudragupta in glowing terms as a warrior, conqueror, learned king and poet. It has no connection with Ashoka, Harshavardhana or Bindusara.
