Rules for using UPSC One

These Terms explain the study service, account responsibilities, content rules, AI tools, subscriptions, payments, support, and the limits that apply when you use UPSC One.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of UPSC One, including its website, study tools, content libraries, AI-assisted features, payments, and support services. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility and account

You must meet the minimum age and legal capacity requirements applicable where you live. You must provide accurate information, use an account you are authorized to use, and keep authentication devices and account access secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. We may limit remembered devices or suspend access when necessary for security, abuse prevention, or account protection.

3. The educational service

UPSC One provides UPSC-oriented previous-year questions, syllabus and theme browsing, topper answer copies, current affairs, Ethics Wiki material, practice tools, study planning, bookmarks, progress tracking, recommendations, and related features. Availability, format, limits, and included features may change as the Service develops. Some content may be supplied by users, administrators, licensors, or automated systems.

4. Educational disclaimer

The Service is an educational aid, not a guarantee of examination success and not legal, medical, financial, psychological, or other professional advice. PYQs, topper copies, current-affairs summaries, extracted insights, recommendations, and AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, outdated information, or differing interpretations. Verify important facts with official or authoritative sources and use your own judgment before relying on content.

5. AI features and quotas

AI features may generate model answers, feedback, writing guidance, summaries, recommendations, or other outputs. Outputs are probabilistic and must be reviewed before use. AI features may be subject to quotas, credits, add-ons, fair-use limits, latency, provider availability, and abuse controls. You must not use AI features to generate unlawful, abusive, deceptive, infringing, harmful, or privacy-invasive content, or to submit confidential information you are not authorized to process.

6. Subscriptions, coins, and payments

Some features may require a subscription, coins, or add-on purchase. Prices, taxes, billing periods, entitlements, limits, and renewal terms are shown at checkout or in the applicable plan information. Payment processing may be provided by Razorpay or another payment provider, whose terms and privacy practices may also apply. A payment is not complete until confirmed by the payment system and UPSC One. We may correct pricing or transaction errors and may suspend entitlements for failed, reversed, fraudulent, or disputed transactions.

7. Refunds and cancellation

Cancellation, expiry, and refunds are governed by the refund or plan terms presented at purchase and by applicable law. Unless those terms or law require otherwise, cancellation stops future renewal but does not necessarily reverse a completed billing period or restore consumed coins, add-ons, or usage. Contact support promptly with the transaction reference if a payment or entitlement appears incorrect.

8. User content and contributions

You retain ownership of content you submit, subject to rights belonging to third parties. You grant UPSC One a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, process, moderate, and display that content as needed to operate, improve, secure, and promote the Service, including contribution review and publication workflows. You represent that you have the necessary rights and that your content does not violate law, confidentiality duties, exam rules, privacy rights, or another person’s intellectual-property rights. We may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms.

9. Acceptable use

  • Do not impersonate another person, share accounts, bypass authentication, evade device or usage limits, or interfere with the Service.
  • Do not scrape, crawl, reverse engineer, overload, probe, or attempt unauthorized access to the platform, APIs, databases, or accounts.
  • Do not upload malware, spam, unlawful material, hate or harassment, sexual exploitation, threats, or content that infringes rights.
  • Do not copy, resell, mass-distribute, publish, or commercially exploit protected UPSC One content or topper materials without permission.
  • Do not manipulate study counts, referrals, reviews, rankings, payments, or other platform signals.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, its software, design, branding, original text, interfaces, compilations, databases, and platform features are owned by UPSC One or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for personal UPSC preparation. No ownership is transferred. Third-party names, marks, source materials, and user content remain with their respective owners.

11. Copyright and complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, send support a sufficiently detailed notice identifying the protected work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact details, and a good-faith statement of the issue. We may request more information, restrict access, or remove material while reviewing a complaint. Do not submit knowingly false claims.

12. Privacy and communications

Our collection and use of personal information are described in the Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you agree that we may send transactional and service messages, including authentication, payment, security, notification, and support communications. You may manage optional communications where controls are available, but essential service messages may still be sent.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account or feature when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, enforce these Terms, comply with law, address non-payment, or maintain platform security. Where appropriate, we may provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Provisions concerning ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability, disputes, and rights granted to UPSC One survive termination.

14. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service reliable but do not promise uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or permanently available operation. Features may depend on third-party services, networks, databases, or providers. We may update, pause, replace, or discontinue features and may revise these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date and may be communicated through the Service or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of fitness, accuracy, availability, non-infringement, or examination outcome. To the maximum extent permitted by law, UPSC One and its providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or loss-of-profit damages arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or required consumer protections.

16. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify UPSC One, its operators, personnel, and providers against claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and reasonable expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, unlawful use of the Service, or content you submit, except to the extent caused by UPSC One’s own unlawful conduct.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are subject to the laws and courts of the jurisdiction of the UPSC One operating entity, subject to mandatory consumer or data-protection rights that apply to you. The operator’s legal name, registered address, and final dispute jurisdiction should be inserted before production publication:
