Explanation

The rate of evaporation rises with temperature, exposed surface area, wind speed and low humidity — but not with the total mass of the liquid; a larger mass takes longer to evaporate but the rate per unit area is unchanged. Adding more liquid therefore does not speed up evaporation. Hence mass of the liquid does not affect the rate.
