General KnowledgeChemistry
- Asolid state of matter
- Bfifth state of matter 171
- Cplasma
- Dstate of condensed matter
Explanation
The Bose–Einstein Condensate, predicted by Satyendra Nath Bose and Albert Einstein in 1924–25 and first created in 1995, is regarded as the fifth state of matter (after solid, liquid, gas and plasma): bosons cooled to near absolute zero collapse into a single quantum state. It was first created experimentally in 1995 by Cornell, Wieman and Ketterle, who shared the 2001 Nobel Prize for it. Hence the fifth state of matter.
