Explanation

Xeriscaping — from the Greek 'xeros' (dry) — is a form of landscaping designed to minimize water consumption, using drought-tolerant plants, efficient irrigation and mulching. Its defining objective is saving water. It is not concerned with preventing soil erosion, promoting rock weathering or controlling land degradation. The correct answer is saving water.
