The Pitt's India Act (1784) set up the Board of Control appointed by the Crown to control the East India Company's affairs (A-3). The Charter Act of 1813 ended the Company's monopoly over Indian trade except in tea and China (B-4). The Charter Act of 1833 removed discrimination against Indians in employment and higher services under Section 87 (C-2). The Charter Act of 1853 enlarged the Governor-General's Legislative Council by adding six legislative members (D-1). Hence the code is A-3, B-4, C-2, D-1.
