The working principle of refrigerator is based on the
general-sciencephysics-mechanics
- Afirst law of thermodynamics
- Bsecond law of thermodynamics
- CPlanck's radiation law
- DRayleigh-Jeans law
Explanation
A refrigerator pumps heat from a cold reservoir to a hot reservoir with the input of work, which is possible only per the second law of thermodynamics (Clausius statement) — heat does not spontaneously flow from cold to hot. The first law alone cannot explain refrigeration, and Planck's and Rayleigh-Jeans laws concern blackbody radiation. Hence the second law is the basis.
