Explanation
The mature Harappan phase in the Cholistan (Ghaggar-Hakra) region declined as urban centres were abandoned during the transition to the Late Harappan phase, around c. 1800 BCE. The date c. 2250 BCE still falls within the mature urban phase, and c. 2000 BCE predates the main wave of abandonment. Hence most mature Harappan sites in Cholistan were abandoned around c. 1800 BCE.
