India's internal security dynamics is inextricably linked with the peace and stability in the neighbourhood. Explain with special reference to instability on the eastern border.

Link between Internal Security & Neighbourhood: (1) Disruption of peace in neighbourhood leads to huge influx of migrants into India & changes in demography, culture, political nature behaviour & rise of secessionist movements, intensifies resource competition. Ex: Influx of migrants from Bangladesh in 1971 and Myanmar in 2021 leading to rise of ULPA & All Ethnic Tribal Force. (2) Presence of safe havens across borders makes elimination difficult by NSCN in Myanmar. (3) Link with cross-border organised crime leading to arms, money currency trafficking. (4) Import of ideology from outside which spins conflict in India & Christian-Hindu divide to Myanmar tension after violence in Myanmar Deployment of LIBME by DRDO Way forward - Use of drones to monitor border. Political solution with neighbours. Invest in cross-border infra projects to promote develop and hence security.
