Why does India's agricultural export performance remain weak despite high production levels? What measures would you suggest to improve agri-export competitiveness?

Measures needed: (1) Crop diversification - towards high value crops of horticulture and floriculture. Example: Mixed cropping flowers with staple. (2) BICK Dobry Committee argued exports to be in line with global demands - allied sector - fisheries to be further promoted. (3) Rationalize MSP (Shuk Aulati) - to ensure better cropping patterns soil health and high productivity. (4) Reduce Portal water exports - is less water intensive crops like rice/sugar using groundwater. Example: India uses 24% global groundwater extraction for agriculture. (5) Lack of incentives for crop diversification due to MSP pricing. (6) Disbursement of subsidies - indirect subsidies are segregated in nature. (7) WTO compliance and call for non-tariff barrier removal. (8) APEDA to be more capable towards export enhancement. (9) One district One product for comprehensive export improvement.
