PM-KISAN was launched in 2015, a DBT scheme to double the farmers income in India. Benefits of PM-KISAN scheme => (1) Farm credit is provided regularly. => 6000 rupees annually. => (2) Security against adverse situations. => Failure of crops. => (3) Non-farm income to improve livelihoods. => (4) Purchasing power also gets improved. => (5) Removal of middlemen with directly money into banks. => (6) Inclusive growth with protection to small and marginal farmers. Challenges present in PM-KISAN => (1) Financial inclusion - many of the bank accounts are not used. => Nearly 28%. => (2) No limits on the land holding of beneficiaries. => Discourages small farmers.
