What is the need for NavIC when existing satellite navigation systems are already available?

NavIC is India's indigenously developed navigation system using 8 Geosynchronous Geostationary GEGO stationary satellite. Existing Satellite Navigation Systems: - US GPS - Russian GLONASS - Chinese Beidou - Japanese Navigation System - EU's Navigation Guidance System Need for NavIC: (1) Strategic Autonomy: Prevent occupation & space data by other states (2) Indigenous Tech: Used to ensure attachment of national interest (3) Civilian Use: In India's 1500 km beyond border (4) Dual Use: For military & strategic purposes. (Eg: Reconnaissance) (5) Tech Demonstrator: That India can build complex navigation system (6) Emerging Use: To build new industries with NavIC data Eg: Mapping/Indie (7) International cooperation: To share tech & data with friendly nations Eg: Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka
