NITI Aayog is often referred to as a bluemark of Indian economy. It came into being through abolishing the Planning Commission in 2015. In 2025, it completed 10 years of its establishment. ROLE PLAYED BY NITI AAYOG: 1) Think - ThankMain role is to act as policy think tank for government of India. 2) Promotes Competitive Federalism'Healthy competition between states' eg SDG Index, School Education Report, Digital Inclusion Index.
3Promotes a spirit of Team India → where centre and states work together to achieve goals for India. 4) Research and Innovation → NITI Aayog led 'Atal Innovation Incubation Centres'. 5) Consultations and dialogue → Promotes a culture of negotiations between various stakeholders, Citizens, Policy experts. 6) Published National Multidimensional Poverty Index → In line with UNDP's MPI along with 2 additional indicators. 7) Citizen centric Governance is ensured through recommendations which support grassroot level public.
