India - Bangladesh cooperation has strengthened over time to emerge as strong neighbours relations. Recent Exchanges: (1) Exchanging corridor in R. Kurigram (2) River cooperation in R. Kurigram (3) Settlement of Maritime boundary disputes (4) Invited country to G20 summit Strengthened Cooperation between them: I Economic cooperation 1. Bangladesh - the biggest trading partner in S.Asia 2. biggest development partner of India today - extending 8 line of credits in last 8 years. 3. FDI hovering to $1509 million

However, certain challenges remain including: i River Dispute: over sharing of transboundary rivers with Bangladesh, Teesta river sharing etc. ii Illegal immigrants: via porous borders fuelling timetable in Assam, & other N.E states iii Rohingya: Bangladesh is keen on bringing India's engagement for issue Rohingya iv Changi intervention: since presided in Bangladesh has increased thereby, which is worrisome for India. v Radicalisation: presence of groups like Jamaat-e-Islami, Hizbi forces etc. Yet despite challenges, India-Bangladesh relations seem flourishing at present and have thus being termed as 'Golden chapter' in bilateral relationship.
