A recent report by RBI, highlighted increased lending through unorganised microfinance groups despite revenue in spot outreach for formal credit. PRIMARY CAUSES OF LIMITED FORMAL CREDIT: 1. Land Fragmentation - 85%+ farmers are small & marginal - 2 hectares (2 ha) - small sized F-access 2. Govt. schemes limitation - M-Kisan - GOAL only for landholding registerists - NITI: 35-45 farmers are tenants - lack of credit to tenants 3. Oral Linkage agreement - Lack of documentation - less credit/no credit
