In India, civil disobedience has championed by leaders like Gandhi against British Colonial rule. Events that led to the Civil Disobedience Movement:- (1) Simon Commission 1927 - The backlash for commission led to display of unity of Indians against non-involvement

(3) Nehru Report under the chairmanry of Motilal Nehru (4) Lahore [illegible] and Purna Swaraj demands of young leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru who advocated for a more radical approach to freedom hence demanded Poorna Swaraj.
