Despite significant advancements, women remain underrepresented in STEM fields. What are the barriers to women's participation in STEM, and what policy interventions can address these challenges to promote gender equity?

STEM courses signified the highest apex of technical and research education in the country, an important metric to women development. Advancements: STEM courses ⇒ nearly (30%) of women's representation btm (12%) in 2015-16 NewWomen's contribution in ISAD, 6IRIAC, ICRIER etc. to STEM. Barriers: 1) Social biases on females, roots marriage ⇒ needed to adopt 'morning back'. 2) Pay disparity ⇒ gap of 4 & 2 billion in upfacing of men & women. 3) Lab infrastructure does not support baby-friendly environment ⇒ lack of breech facilities in labs. 4) Low female-gross enrollment ratio in primary education, only 66% as compared to 25% males 5) Sexual harassment at workplaces 6) Plastic sexuality, STEM biases and glass ceiling in administrative lab management Policy interventions: 1) Extension of Rajiv Gandhi Scheme facilities to STEM fields. 2) Reservation for females in research projects. 3) Implicit discrimination should be handled by penal disincentives. 4) Cyber workplaces. Thus, programme like CURIE, MADAM etc. we steps in right direction.
