Self Help groups are group of 20-20 members who participate in activities for collective growth and development. India more than 30 crore members of Self Help Groups. Self Help groups as vehicle of socio economic transformation: 1) Economic activities: SHGs engage in economic activities for improving income level [Example] Women SHG - Loy Lakhpati Didi. 2) Women empowerment: Economic opportunity ties for women and skill development 3) Avail credit: 6 SHG member avail credit for economic activities

Schemes for SHG enablement role: 1) Credit facility: NABARD Bank linkage programme → Credit facility from bank. 2) National rural livelihood Mission: Promote creation of SHGs, skill development and economic activities. 3) Lakhpati Didi scheme: Increase women income through targeted schemes. 4) Capacity building: Central service center run by SHG members.
