COVID-19 pandemic has killed nearly 6 lakh people in India; however, in long term trend, 73% of deaths are caused by non-communicable diseases [e.g. cardiovascular diseases]. Issues in India's health care surveillance system - (1) Absence of data on geographical or district-wise variation of cause of death. IS government and CSDS data on COVID death due to lack of oxygen are varying. (2) Internet penetration is limited. IS Reveal India only 35-45% internet penetration. This causes absence of interoperability of

data & surveillance. (3) Absence of record keeping & mass maintenance at hospitals, especially PHCs. Amid burden of communicable & non-communicable disease, need to revamp public health surveillance - (1) For data-driven and evidence based policy making - IS patients of cancers and their prevalence can add to programme by government on some programme. (2) Track of communicable disease & its spread by COVID - mark contiguous zones to prevent its further spread. Isolation of infected people [by monkeypox]. (3) Need of national digital

health mission to step up & create digital ecosystem for bedation of - health ED - professional doctor registry - professional facilities registry to have track of patients history, disease, interoperable data - increased survival chance for history-based medicine prescription - data use for R&D to generate innovative solution - stem cell therapy for HIV patient successful in USA.
