The BRICS alliance allows for including full cooperation on myriad issues, however, the platform's ability to influence the trajectory of bilateral relationships remains limited. Do you agree?

BRICS include Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Recently, there has been an expansion from 5 to 11 members. Meaningful cooperation in myriad issues (1) Promoting rule-based world order. (2) Challenging hegemony of western nations. (3) Facing economic crisis well through New Development Bank. (4) Helping nations to deal with financial issues through contingency reserve.

Reasons (1) No consensus on major issues like Russia-Ukraine war. (2) Border issues of individual countries eg India-China at LAC. (3) No mechanism of dispute settlement under BRICS charter. However, (1) It has provided a platform to foster dialogue eg India-China on border issues. (2) Including Iran and Saudi Arabia together is also a positive sign of cooperation.
