Recently there is a need for convergence of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions to effectively tackle child undernutrition in India. Examine how such a law can lead to good governance and boost citizens participation in decision-making. Comment.

Social Accountability law deals with promotion of answerability of the state towards citizens, as enshrined in UNDP's principles of good governance. Social Accountability law leading to good governance and boosting citizens participation: (1) Ensuring the responsibility of state towards citizens. (2) Promoting transparency in government. eg. Jan Saakshi Portal of Rajasthan. (3) Ensuring consensus-orientedness in framing of laws. eg. Calling for consultation of all stakeholders. (4) Preventing corruption.

Boosting citizens participation: (1) Effective grievance redressal mechanism. (2) Past and the legislative consultations would be effectively conducted. (3) Promoting social audit, eg. POSHAN Abhiyaan and MNREGA. (4) Decentralization in following of citizen charter. eg. TAX Payer Charter that was recently constituted. All this would allow India to be developed state till 2047.
