Prevention of sexual harassment at workplace has been a main theme of Vishakha guidelines by SC which paved the way for implementing POSH Act. In what way has the implementation of this rule resulted in limited successes in raising awareness about unorganized sector and sexual harassment? Propose strategies to bridge this gap and ensure comprehensive protection against harassment.

Prevention of sexual harassment at workplace has main theme of Vishakha guidelings by SC which paved the way for implementing POSH Act. How has the implementation has limited success: - Less awareness by women themselves - Companies & corporations are not following the rules. Eg:- Any organization having 10 or more women employee have to establish Internal Complaint Committee has not been constituted by many. Role of state: Rules & also lacks about distinct complaint committee has not been established in many state.

Factors hindering the benefit of women in unorganized sector: (1) Lack social security provided thus no formal means to complain (No inquiry committee or complaints committee) (2) Women in unorganized sector are majority illiterate/semi-literate and are unaware of their title. (3) Due to less employment security & social security they often fear in complaining -> loose their livelihood. There are data and improper checks of implementing this rule in unorganized sector (1) -> Social stigma associated with such complaints Enggestions to bridge the gap: (1) Awareness and educational programme is to make them aware of how to avail benefits & how to complain. (2) Institutional measures: Egg:- Complains committee should be built. ↓ Online grievance redressal mechanism
