India adopted parliamentary system of government from British System and tweaked it to suit own needs & circumstances. Factors for adopting parliamentary system: (1) Historical factor: India was more familiar with parliamentary system compared to presidential system when it had no experience. (2) Collective Responsibility: In parliamentary system executive is responsible to legislature unlike Presidential system. It was done to that people's voices are heard more effectively.
