Principle of federal supremacy is as follows: (1) In case of any conflict between state law and central law on concurrent list state law and union list. (2) Conflict between state and central law on concurrent list. In both above cases, central law shall prevail over state law. Resolution of Contentious Issues: Principle of Harmonious Construction. Here the Court tries to see if it can harmoniously interpret both central and state law to do excluded instead of one taking precedence over other.
