Main Body

The Higher Education Institutions HEIs such as IIT, IIM, & AIMSs etc are an aspiration for youth, but ironically none of them are among the top 100 in the QS ranking. Ranking of Higher Education Institution includes: 1. Based on performance in terms of research and innovationIIT Delhi performed ahead of all Indian Institution in QS ranking 2023. 2. Infrastructure for study and holistic growth 3. Performance in job placement

However there are certain concerns about broader goals of education: (1) Employability issues - Around 50% of undergraduates in India are not employable. (2) Poor industry-academia linkage. (3) Inability of practical application of theoretical knowledge. Measures must be taken for a more objective ranking systems: (1) Ranking based on research outcomes and innovation at university. (2) Moving ahead of mere placement. (3) Promoting inclusive growth via ranking based on level of development from initial level, rather than final outcome only. (4) Societal outcomes - Judging impact of institution of society such as contribution to sports, communication skills, solving ecological issues. The Finland model of education based on Educate should be adopted for holistic growth of student's personality.
