Assess the role of NITI Aayog over the past decade in promoting cooperative and competitive federalism.

NITI Aayog was established in 2015 replacing erstwhile Planning Commission and it celebrates 10th anniversary. Role of NITI Aayog: 1) Cooperative federalism: centre and state cooperate with each other with common vision of growth & prosperity. 2) Team India: grouping includes hmm minister, cabinet ministers and chief ministers of all states UTs - deliberate on policy making. 3) Act as a forum to resolve conflicts and disputes. 4) Streamline common vision of growth (@Visit Bharat 2047) 5) Forum to share best practices (@India @75 document) 6) Participation of regional civil societies: perpetuation of social federalism. 7) Centre brings out their policies and state gets voice to show their aspirations faster. 2. Competitive Federalism: centre and state and states amongst themselves involve in healthy competition of growth: 1) Good governance indictaes to promote minimum government maximum governance. 2) Holistic development (@Aspirational District programme and ranking).
