Explain the concept of rain shadow effect. How does it influence the distribution of precipitation and vegetation across mountain ranges?
Main Body
Rain shadow effect is the geographic phenomena, where due to topography the rain is obstructed on one region between deprived of precipitation. Concept of rain shadow effect: (1) Evaporation led clouds are formed which travelled toward land. (2) The mountain obstructs the cloud movement, thus clouds travel upwards and cools down due to decreasing temperature (normal lapse rate).
Conclusion
Side of mountain but without another, thus creating rain shadow region. i.e. West coast of India, Akey (6 America). Influence on vegetation is as follows: (1) Due to sufficient rainfall, the leeward side has rich biodiversity and dense forest ecosystem. i.e: Area forests in S America. Thus rain shadow area influencing land gap geography, ecology directly. Human life reflecting natures diversity in its phenomena.
