Main Body

Economic slowdown owing to disruption post due to COVID-19 and now the Russia-Ukraine war has exacerbated the issue of illiteracy, poverty and unemployment SDGA (SDG1). An inter-related syndrome: Lower investments on Education & Healthcare ILLITERACY ↓ Low Income POVERTY ↓ Unemployment, petty wagesLack of skills, Human Capital & Labour productivity Whole of government approach required because: • Cause-effect relationship between the 3 • Piece-meal approaches ineffective, eg. Employment schemes MGNREGA do per unskill education, skilling • Overlap of ministries ➜ lack of coordination (Ministry of Special Justice & Empowerment, Education, Skill Development Finance) • Positive feedback loop if human capital developed once • Dependent variables, eg. Eradicating poverty ➜ require higher wages, lack of jobs, ⬅️ will discourage ⬅️ firms Hence, to have Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, it would require Sabka Prayaas too.
