Private Member's Bills (PMBs) seldom become law in India, yet they are an important aspect of parliamentary democracy. Bring out their significance and suggest steps to strengthen the PMB process.

Reasons: Last PMB passed in become law in T India was in 1870's India and since then no PMB has been passed. Lack of popular backing by Ministers, MPs etc. Insufficient machinery to prepare bills that Govt possess. vetoes by President. Yet, they are an important aspect of Parliamentary democracy

Separate initiative time slot for discussion NRLOC of PMB.
