Recently, we have seen a rise in conflict between the council of ministers and governors, thus again raising debate about role of governor. Governor as Saboteur or Sage: (1) Blame game: politics happening between governor and chief ministers over case like Assam rape case. (2) Punjab government in 2028 passed bill removing governor as vice chancellors for universities. (3) Alleged biased role of Maharashtra governor in Shivssena defection cases. (4) Illegal stay on bills of Kerala and Tamil Nadu governments by governors as held by respective cases in supreme court.

(5) Sole constitutional loyalty of governor in Srikrishna for the federal structure of India. (6) Governor being a nominal head must not overstep in power and must not disturb balance of powers.
