Main Body
NGOs are organizations as per World Bank which undertake activities to alleviate suffering of poor, provide basic services to poor, enhance service delivery to distant sectors, participate advocacy, marginalized nations.
NGOs are principal vehicles for safety-valve of community voice:-
1. Allow policy advocacy by people. 2. Involve in basic service delivery. (B) - Hope foundation doing Kerala locals.
2. Granulate citizen's interest and lobby inputs on particular allied (B) - Kalpan Sarhas Andalan instrumental in TDS invention 182.
4. Ensure fulfillment of gap between citizen-state (c) - Akshay foundation gives health care support to individuals.
5. Allow policy formulation, implementation (b) (CI) enables policy formulation on labels like ideal, effort, etc.
However there are issues:-
1. Transparency - K per CRT only 10% of NGO file returns. Hence in rural areas is limited. 2. NSA (Ajit Doval) highlighted that if civil society is diverted it may be on alternative charge of Uncivore. 3. Violation of FCRA norms as per HMA - license of 1621 NGOs cancelled between 2019-21.
Reform by:- (1) S. Vijay Kumar Committee to have model agency for NGOs. (2) Project (NAO Dayan) by NITI Aayog. Pure will strengthen citizen's governance in India.
