Lobbying refers to the practice of involving in specific dimensions, deliberations with government by individuals, pleasure groups, businesses to persuade on particular policy, goal decided by the stakeholder.
Lobbying will strengthen:-
(A) Participative governance:- 1. Ensure specific grievances are addressed. 2. Ensure appropriate opportunity to each stakeholder to raise concerns and demand appropriate action. 3. Different stakeholders like women, managers, widows can lobby.
(B) Transgenders can lobby for inclusion, participation of all (GE - SC, ST, ORC, etc.)
4. Ensure that policy advocacy is strengthened. 5. Ensure inclusive participation of all (GE - SC, ST, ORC, etc.)
(B) Ease of Doing Business:- 1. Government can be asked to frame appropriate policies by business groups. (B) - lobbying done by auto-manufacturers in USA is legal. 2. Business groups can have interest participation and interest aggregation for all (B) - they can raise need of stable regulatory policy or tax reform.
But there are issues:- (I) May lead to inequality, social injustice may lead to doing capitalism in society. (II) May lead to biased decision-making. (III) Enhanced bailout of those with low transparency. There need to be careful application of lobbying to that it does not lead to inequity.
