(B) Socialist:

1Unlike socialism of USSR, India leaned heavily towards Gandhian socialism. [JDS Nakara case]
2This blend was - Nehuvian socialism: India followed mixed economy model: suitable for Indian content
3State took the prime role of industrialization (by) constructing dams, integrated steel plants etc.
4Private sector was allowed to complement
5Thus, policies of Import Substituting etc were followed.

(B) Secular:

1As Dr. Radhakrishnan said - Indian secularism is a positive concept.
2Unlike western notions, India follows "sarva dharma sambhog"
3Principled distance of state - allowing for positive interventions (by) Sabrimala Triple Neem cases
4Protecting of minority rights [Art 26, 29, 30]
5Promoting of all religions equally (by) Haji yatra, Amarnath yatra, Sittar party, Katharpur corridor etc.

Thus, India evolved its own meanings of above - tailored to its pluralistic needs
