POCSO Act was enacted to ensure children are not exposed to lewd & physical misconduct.

Intended objectives:

(iii) Cyber possession of CSAM (Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Material) was included offense.

Achievements of POCSO:

(i) Increase in POCSO case filing - Led by 90%

(ii) 85% disposal rate [India CAPS Protection Report] (ICPR)
