Social media is emerged due to IT revolution & gives platform for users geographically isolated but still social with others. Some examples are X, Facebook, etc.

It can be said as parliament of citizens due to the similar functionality as parliament in thriving democracies. Some of the similarities are -

1Controlling agenda of public interest by trending patterns.
2Recent Fundaweni campaign on X, for funding Jet engine Kaveri for defence.
3Accountability of executive, similar to parliament, like parliament committee on its regulation.
4Questioning govt during COVID healthcare collapses.
3Question hour like phenomenon, where people tag a question serve provided (eg Tagging PM/minister on X), for delayed train, loss maintenance, etc
4Engaging mood of elector, narrative building & deciding whether government is polit or not like parliament.
5Real time, close monitoring of behavior of Administration, just like parliament committee on its regulation.
6Stops abuse of power - Red light car - criticised by social media, etc.

thus, social media can be said as a parliament for ittident. Although are not clear & pure like parliament, filled with lies & propaganda.
