Civil disobedience Movement (1930-1934) was a peaceful march against oppression of the British led by Mahatma Gandhi.

Result of British apathy, led to Gandhi-Irwin pact, Civil Disobedience Mort, British oppression, Sarojini Naidu.

Events leading to Civil disobedience Movement:

1Simon Commission (1927) - land the backlash failure in granting any timeline for dominion status

2Nehru Report (1929) - effort towards Indian Constitutional framework, However, socialist section rejected Nehru SC base, formed Indian Independence League

3Purna Swaraj Day - on Lahore session (1929) declared Independence Day on 26 January 1930

4Gandhi's 11 demands - rejected by Viceroy Irwin

5Failure of Delhi Declaration (1929) - Irwin ignored demands for Indian independence

6Gandhi - finally from Sabarmati launched Civil disobedience Movement - deft March from Dandi & broke the Salt law

Outcome:

1Mass pan India participation as Tanjore, Coromandel coast led by Rajagopalachar kelapan etc.

2Women participation ex Daksana salt raids - Sarojini Naidu

3Students, peasants, rural people participated (ex Assam Cunningham Circular)

4However - British met it with violent oppression

5Gandhi - Irwin pact (1931) - Gandhi agreed to participate in Second Round Table Conference (RTC)
