Mangrove region is Inter-tidal, saw-tolerant vegetation that cause around 30,749 vegetation in India (State of Forest Report, 2023)

Geographical factors for mangrove growth:

1Van Coastline = around 7100km + coastal ecology of mangrove.
2High salinity of coast → mangroves are salt pherent rhizohaline species and hence grow. Eg vasai mangrove in mumba high.
3Presence of continental shelf = provide transitional zone
4Tidal impact = regular high and low tides = space for mangrove distribution through uniparity Eg sundarbans.
5Saline soils = flourishing of mangrove. Eg Hiren mangrove.
