Recently with 18th Lok Sabha formation, new Parliamentary committees were formed.

Parliamentary committees:

Ad hoc → having specific PAC [Parliamentary Standing Committees]
Financial Standing → DRSC's (Departmentally Related Standing Committees)
New 1[Mahita Mattia] case to ethics committee (E.g Rules BAC)

New hallmark of executive accountability to legislative?

1Importantisan working and no public scrutiny → This constructive criticism across party lines
2Accountability which is year round when parliament sits only three [time period: DRSC calling permanent executive on rules, questioning
3Legislations refer to → corrections 2 modifications - Better trust

[Limitations in executive accountability:]

1Committee don't have power to punish. Only secondarry in nature
2Reductions in laws referred to committee
3Being polarised [illegible] and accountability perceived as destructive criticism (E.g Alleged bias in formation of committee and role of executive in appointment)

This leads to minute scrutiny and collaboration (E.g JPC on Data Selection Act)

4It also secures scope of protest, this checks and balance within precincts of house
5No ADL provisions applicable → so every legislator held executive accountable with respect to own idea
