The path towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat traverses through an overhaul of industrial policies. Comment, with special reference to the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.

Atmanirbhar Bharat is a scheme to ensure self-sufficiency in key industries under the larger vision of Make In India - Make for the world. It is in response to foreclosing onslaught of trade war, supply chain weaponization, however it is not a protectionist.

Sub-Productivity Linked Incentive Scheme

1PLI scheme is a manufacturing sector scheme in sectors like (AEC, Food Processing, Semi conductors etc.)
2It provides incentives for domestic production in range of 4-6% of production.
3It is about 4% seniorism of production to increase domestic manufacturing in sunrise industries.

The scheme welcomes new investments but has limited window.
