In 1904- 05, Russia was in war against Japan in a bid to gain more colonies

This led to widespread famine and disruption in Russia causing many deaths.

Finally Russia was defeated in the war and this led to people marching towards the Czar palace for answers and prayer.

1 But baffled by the situation the Czar ordered the gunfire to control the protest, this led deaths of larks of people in Russia and way called Black Sunday.
