Tropical cyclones are low pressure, violent, circulating storm which are formed in tropical ocean region.

1Temperature difference: Northern hemisphere oceans are at higher temperature they southern due to more land mass in North. This temperature is greater than 27°C. (Favourable to cyclone)
2Warm ocean Currents: These regions are characterized by currents like Gulf Stream, Kuroshio e.t.c which make conditions favourable.
3Low wind shear: In these locations compared to southern hemisphere counterpart, the wind shear is low.
4Tropical equator: mostly the equator shifts to these regions due to high temperature
5Ocean stratification: more fresh water inflow into these areas => prevents intermixing of ocean layers => uniform temperature => favours cyclones.
6Presence of upper level divergence in these regions.
7Presence of unstable cyclonic conditions
Tropical cyclones are more common in about regions but climate change is making it more unpredictable & severe.
