Introduction

As per IPCC, there is human-induced anthropogenic ocean warming

9 words

Main Body

As per IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) there is human-induced anthropogenic ocean warming due to which sea level has risen by 23 cm between 1901-2020.

World's oceans losing memory:

1Change in features of Oceans such as shoals, slopes due to sea level rise, land subsidence.

2. Temperature: distribution is changed due to warming.

to warming of the oceans.

2. Ocean memory in terms of oceanic currents, pre-equate currents u also getting distributed

Human-induced warming

emissions (HFC, CFC), change in rainfall, polar ice melt
Industrial, vehicular, pollutants, etc.

Consequences of phenomenon:

1. Floods and cause: of the oceans - plankton, zooplankton, fishes etc dying.

2. Biological Diversity: of ocean and surrounding coastal area on decline.

3. Humans: 60% humans dependent on ocean for economic survival under threat.

4. Subsidence: of cities like Mumbai, etc induced capital.

5. Deoxygena tion of oceans.

  • References IPCC as authority
  • Provides specific data (23 cm rise between 1901-2020)
  • Uses diagrams to illustrate complex concepts
  • Mentions both causes and consequences
  • Comprehensive listing of consequences
  • Identifies human sources of warming
  • Mentions policy response (UNDC, COP-26)
  • Discusses socio-economic impacts
