Do you agree with the view that Gandhian politics was, in a sense, a continuation of Tilak's politics? (Answer in 150 words)

Gandhian politics was based on the principle of Satyagraha and Ahimsa along with the spirit to include each, unless section in freedom struggle. Tilak's politics was reflected through inclusion of grassroots in struggle through Ganesh festivals, use of Kesari, Maharatta etc.

Gandhi's politics was continuation of Tilak:

1. Inclusion: Gandhi included all sections in struggle just like Tilak. Religions, sections, students, women, farmers, etc.

2. Local mobilization: using linguistics of the region and use of popular festivals as done by Tilak through Ganesh festivals.

3. Understanding: of issues through travelling across India and interacting with individuals like Dalit women. Tilak also understood Maharashtra problems.

3. Antagonism: towards eradication in Tilak while was not in Gandhi. Tilak relied was not in Gandhi.

4. Muslim participation advocated by Gandhi.

5. Gandhi favoured constitutional struggle both contributed to struggle which led to Indian independence.
