According to ASEC-2021 report, children aged (10-16) are using mobile phone for: i) 76% for social media ii) 52% for education. Impact of social media in reshaping identity formation: (1) Greater influence by social media stars like Samay Raina. (2) Changing ideals: idolising Abdul Kalam has been replaced by idolising Youtube content creators. (3) Changing goals: from becoming doctors, astronauts to becoming content developer. (4) Virtual identity: creating a virtual image which might be in contrast to real image. ex introverts -> extroverts on social media. (5) Vocalism: expression of views through social media.
