Main Body
Weathering is a process of breaking down of large parent rock into small parts leading to the formation of soil. Physical: Thermal, Hydraulic, Stress induced, Human animal induced. Chemical: Hydration, Solution forming, Acid action, Dissolution and leaching. Interdependence between physical and chemical weathering: (1) Higher temperature (physical) leads to greater dissolution of rocks (chemical) (2) Enhanced acid action like carbonic acid makes parent rock weak for dismantling under stress.
