Plateaus, often called the tablelands are the flat physiography features which are flat at top and rise steeply from the surrounding relief.

★ Economic regions:

1. Resources - there are most resource rich regions:

Iron → Bahadur, Bokari, Jharkhand
Coal → Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh
Alumina → Arlida region
Manganese → Arlida region.

2. Agriculture - varied soil colour, spices, palm oil.

These plateau regions are the economic drivers of country through mining regions and joint the PURVODAYA scheme is a good initiative to invest development in there region.
