Recently, India discovered a store of lithium in Leh, Jammu and Kashmir region, starting talks on extraction and use in output generators. Growing Demand of Rare Earth Element (REE): (i) Use of REE in semiconductor industry and in various consumer industries like small mobile phones (spoon, other electronics) for getting. (ii) Giving digitalization of sectors (c) online education, e-learning, and increased demand for REE-intensive gadgets. (iii) Use in called electric vehicles, eg. lithium-ion batteries. As users become more climate conscious, demand for these vehicles will drive demand for REE-intensive products. Science and development, eg. use in artificial intelligence, space, quantum computer, etc.

Environmental Impacts: (i) Landfill extraction disturbs maternal state of life on land (Camouflet SDGL) and slope under water (SDGL). Deforestation and land degradation are results. (ii) Marine sites (polymetallic nodule extraction) is highly vulnerable to REE. (iii) Waste disposal - electronic waste is dumped and would matter causing lead to texting of water bodies. (iv) Thus, REE can be the future of the 4th Industrial Resolution but it's extraction requires greater impact assessment to ensure environmental sustainability.
