Main Body

Linguistic reorganization demand was originnated in 1953 by the agitation of approx-then at telugu speaking state from medias. By it became stronger it led to formation of fazl Alti commission 1952 which led to reorganization of states in 1957 on the linguistic basis. Since then large scale reordering and restruturing of states have been done on the basis of language. This has led to current system where mostly of the states are formed based on the language spoken by the majority of people. Most at linguistic division.

1Protection of language - India is a multi-lingual nation and language brings a big part of identity of the person.

Linguistic states gave protection to major languages and thereby in the identity of people.

2Administrative ease - Multilingual states led diffelt to administer and led to conflicts.
3Social solidarity at local level and strengthened due to similarities and solidarity between people spoken same language.

Demerits:

1National identity got weakened as solidarity and politics based on 'languages' led to divide and conflicult.
2Economic and social intergration became diflt cult as due absence of common language and discrimination on the basis of language.
3State boiundries nil-excepted by all sttes which has led to inter-boundary conflicts between MH and MP. So though linguistic division has led to an better administration it needs to be backed by cooperative approach to decrease divide
