How will you explain the different fates of Buddhism and Jainism despite a slew of similarities in the two religions?

Buddhism and Jainism both originated during the same time in the 6th century BC in north India. The conditions that led to the function of Buddhism and Jainism were also similar and this led resulted in lots of similarities between the teachings of Buddha and Mahavira. Both religions promoted non-violence, opposed domination of brahmins, decreed increased ritual practices in hinduism and promoted equality between castes and genders. Still through the years Buddhism increaed rapidly and spread not only in India but also in Asia and became a widely followed religion as compared to jainism which not reached to the final section of trading caste in India due to following reasons:

(A) Political patronage - Buddhism recieved early political patronage from powerful kings like Ashoka and Kushanas which helped large empires and spread buddhism.

(B) Ashoka's Dharma - Ashoka actively used his political and stink machinery to spread teachings of buddhism in countries outside India.

(C) Rich literary and scholarly heritage got developed in Buddhism due to established of universities like Nalanda and Taxila which trained people from different countries in terms of Buddhism.

(D) Ascetic nature of Jainism - Jainism focused heavily on non-violence and justice and had more rigors and rules then Buddhism which kept large Scale people like farmers and workers from it.
