The integration of the princely States into the Indian Union after partition involved overcoming significant administrative and socio-cultural hurdles. Discuss the statement with special emphasis on the integration of Hyderabad. Also, throw light on the role of Sardar Patel in the integration process.

There were over 500 princely states to be integrated into Indian union, with own laws of socio-cultural identities & eg-Hyderabad.

Administrative Hurdles in Integration process:

1Princely State with own administrative machinery to govern, led towards hurdles in producing modern unitary. [Eg: Saxakars (Office of State)].
2Army/Military was easily that controlled with modern ordaining => difficult to undertake action.

Demand for autonomy within Independent India, delaying the integration.

Socio-cultural Hurdles:
